Photographing Twins

This session was taken by our photographer Franzi in New York City.

Photographing twins can be a beautiful and rewarding experience for both the photographer and the parents. It provides an opportunity to capture the unique bond and connection between the siblings, as well as their individual personalities and characteristics. Twins can also create visually striking and captivating images, with their symmetry and mirroring often leading to creative composition and framing. We love newborn twin photoshoots!

Tips for your session with twin newborns

  • Timing: Aim for the session within the first 8-18 days after birth — babies are sleepier and easier to pose then.

  • Feed Beforehand: Please feed the babies just before the session so they’re full and sleepy.

  • Warm Environment: Keep the room toasty warm (around 80°F) — newborns love warmth and will sleep better.

  • White Noise: A white noise machine or app can help soothe them and drown out sudden sounds.

2h Family Session

  • For newborn sessions with twins we will come to your home. Once the kids are older, we can still come to your home, but also take the session outside, somewhere in your neighborhood: a park, a playground, your rooftop, an ice cream parlour… many things are possible here!
  • It will be about 2 hours long, with your baby and all family members included. Pets are welcome too!
  • You’ll receive about 100 edited files uploaded to a password protected online gallery for full download – no surcharge for digitals!
  • There is a $75 surcharge for weekends and holidays
  • We aim to deliver all edited digital files within 3 weeks. Expedited service (7 days) can be purchased for a fee of $150

12 Week Old Twins

Some parents want to wait until the 12 week mark when the twins are beginning to be awake more and start to interact with their surroundings. This can make for some adorable photos where they’re looking at their parents or even starting to “smile” and show signs of social awareness, which makes for more diverse and expressive photos.
